VEMP

VEMP (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential) is a test to assess the function of the inner ear (otolith organs) and related nerve pathways.

Key Points:
1. *Why It's Done*: To evaluate inner ear balance structures (saccule and utricle) in conditions like vestibular neuritis, Ménière’s disease, or superior canal dehiscence.

2. How It Works:
- Sound or vibration stimuli are delivered to the ear.
- Muscle responses (neck or eye muscles) are recorded through electrodes.

3. Types:
- cVEMP: Tests the saccule and inferior vestibular nerve (neck muscles).
- oVEMP: Tests the utricle and superior vestibular nerve (eye muscles).

4. Preparation: No special preparation needed.

5. Safety: Non-invasive and painless
